Past Intructional Techology Pilots
During my time at RIT as an Instructional Designer and Technology Research Consultant, I served as the project lead for several technology pilots. Three notable long-term exploratory pilots I oversaw as a member of the Teaching & Learning Services office involved the Teaching & Learning Technology (TLT) Studio, Interactive Whiteboards (IWB), and the VoiceThread multimedia tool. The goals for each of these projects were to 1) disseminate best practices for effective course design and meaningful use of instructional technology, and 2) research novel and innovative instructional technology to improve the teaching and learning experience for faculty and students. An overview of each of these projects is provided below.
The TLT Studio
A cross-disciplinary incubator space for faculty looking to pilot new and innovative ways of teaching and explore how to improve student learning with technology.

Interactive Whiteboards
Investigated how interactive projectors in the classroom might increase student engagement and improve team-based problem-solving in engineering classes.

VoiceThread
Leveraged VoiceThread's easy-to-use multimedia capabilities to improve the online learning experience and make learning more accessible.
